Essential oils are a wonderful way to enhance your health, wellbeing and reduce anxiety whatever the root cause might be. Soak in the benefits of aromatherapy. You will surely not be disappointed by the relief that washes over you.

Many of us live in a world that is far from relaxing. Whether it is just the regular hustle and bustle of daily living or even late nights for a busy job. Essential oils cannot necessarily be the anecdote if the root cause is an illness or an even bigger issue. However, for those moments where you feel it is harder to find that peaceful feeling essential oil recipes for anxiety can come to your rescue.

A little boost especially with blending these ingredients into recipes can be a helpful resource. Inhaling and diffusing are the best methods to use if relief from anxiety is what you are seeking.

Serenity is on its way to you! Just make sure to be cautious on your use of these oils. Store them in a cool and dry spot. Make sure they are in a safe place and out of the reach of children or pets. Essential oils are very powerful substances. They should be regarded more like a medicine than something without any consequence.

Top Essential Oils for Stress

The best general purpose essential oils that you should consider for anxiety and stress are Bergamont, Grapefruit, Lavender, and Lemon. This short list is quickly followed by Bergamont, Frankincense, Geranium, Melissa, Orange, Roman Chamomile and Sandalwood.

To maximize your spending, it would be best to buy those top essential oils for your collection first. You can then slowly add the other items as your spending budget permits.

Quality is king when it comes to essential oil purchases. Look for organic and premium ingredients. For anxiety and stress relief you will most likely want to use high quality ultrasonic essential oil diffusers to experience the benefits of these blends. This is another investment that will be worthwhile because of the calming nature that it will bring to daily living in your home environment.

This is a fantastic guide from nourishingtreasures.com. It carefully examines how different oils aid in the various types of stress we can experience. Mentally and physically we can react differently to all of these different stressors we encounter.

Make Your Own Essential Oil Blends

For insomnia-related stress, blend together 15 drops Clary Sage, 10 drops of Lemon, and 5 drops of Lavender with 2 TBSP carrier oil and massage on skin. Or take a bath and add 2 drops of Vetiver and 4 drops Australian Sandalwood to the water.

To help work-related stress, add 4 drops May Chang, and 2 drops Valerian to your bath. These can be diffused by your bedside.

To ease mental stress, vaporize 2 drops Spike Lavendar with 4 drops of Peppermint. Or add to your bathwater 4 drops Plai and 2 drops of Neroli. Another option for mental stress is to vaporize 3 drops Roman Chamomile and 2 drops Sweet Orange.

To ease emotional stress, take a bath with 1 drop German Chamomile and 4 drops Lavender added to the water.

Easy-Aromatherapy-recipes.com offers a great blend for stress relief that is quick and easy to assemble.

Aromatherapy Stress Reduction Recipe:
Make Your Own Inhaler

This nifty little aromatherapy stress remedy is great because you can carry it in your bag or keep it in your desk (keep an extra one in your car – it’s great for road rage!) and use it whenever you need a time-out.

Pour a teaspoon of coarse sea salt in a very small dark glass or PET plastic bottle and add:

10 drops Bergamot essential oil

4 drops Lavender essential oil

4 drops Orange essential oil

1 drop Rose Geranium essential oil

1 drop Ylang Ylang OR Chamomile essential oil

To use, take three long, slow, deep breaths of the aroma. Take a short break, then take three more deep breaths. Do this three times to get some serious aromatherapy stress relief.

Their recipe for diffusing is a little different, but designed to promote relaxation as well.

Relaxing Woodsy Diffuser Blend

Deep and rich with a hint of sweetness, this relaxing blend is perfect for an evening of quiet, candlelit conversation.

It’s a nice aromatherapy diffuser essential oil for men (with the palmarosa) because it’s not too girly. Adding a drop of vetiver will give this recipe a smoky undertone.

4 drops Lavender essential oil

2 drops Cedarwood essential oil

2 drops Orange OR Petitgrain essential oil

1 drop Palmarosa or Ylang Ylang essential oil

Optional: 1 drop Vetiver essential oil

This powerful research from articles.mercola.com shares how the power of aromatherapy should not be underestimated.

For an estimated 40 million US adults, feelings of anxiety may occur even when there’s no real threat, causing unnecessary stress and emotional pain.

Unfortunately, most people who suffer with anxiety either do nothing or resort to pharmaceutical drugs – many of which are ineffective and capable of destroying your health and sanity further. Commonly prescribed drugs include benzodiazepine drugs like Ativan, Xanax, and Valium.

Many of these anti-anxiety drugs exert a calming effect by boosting the action of a neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the same way as opioids (heroin) and cannabinoids (cannabis) do.

This in turn activates the gratification hormone, dopamine, in your brain. Since the identical brain “reward pathways” are used by both types of drugs, they can be equally addictive and also may cause side effects like memory loss, hip fractures, impaired thinking, and dizziness.

Ironically, the symptoms of withdrawal from many of these anxiety medications include extreme states of anxiety – some of which are far worse than the original symptoms that justified treatment in the first place. Clearly a safe, natural alternative for treating anxiety is needed, and aromatherapy may be one such option worth trying.

Natural forms of treatment should not be dismissed as not being powerful. The benefit that aromatherapy oils can provide when used properly and for the right reason can bring along a whole host of benefits. Rather than a quick fix these oils can be a healthy and sound way to help ease some of the anxiety you may be experiencing in your life. Different resources are available through blends and recipe to find your ideal combination. It does not happen overnight. You may have to experiment with your oil choices. Deciding the right carrier method may take a little tweaking. Continue to have patience and you will be able to discover a truly beneficial world designed to make your life a little easier and less stressful.
